Nyepi Day is Bali’s Day of Silence, celebrating the Balinese New Year. The island stops completely, no work, travel, noise, or lights. The night before features Ogoh-Ogoh parades, where giant demon statues are paraded and burned to chase away evil spirits. Tourists must stay indoors.
